Readings and review
How readings arrive, why the doubtful ones come first, and why a person always confirms them.
Readings are the base of everything: a wrong reading means a wrong invoice. So they go through review.
How they arrive
The caretaker (or you) photographs the meter with a phone. The app sends only the photo and gets the digits back, filled into the field. The photo stays attached to the reading — it is the proof.
If the AI cannot read the photo — bad light, blur, a dirty glass — nothing stops: the field stays empty and the value is typed in by hand. The photo is still kept. The AI assists; it never gates the reading.
Whoever was at the meter submits it; someone else confirms. The reading enters with the status pending review. Nothing is approved on its own.
The review
Meters → Review.
The list is ordered so the doubtful ones come first. Doubtful means the value does not fit this meter’s history — an apartment that usually uses 300 kWh suddenly reads 1050. Tabloto does not know why; it only knows it is worth your eyes.
For each reading:
- the photo — zoom in and see the digits yourself;
- the value — as read or as typed;
- the previous reading and the difference.
Three options:
- Approve — the value is right. It counts toward the month’s consumption.
- Correct — the digit is wrong. Type the right one and approve. What the AI read is kept separately and never overwritten — it is the record of what the machine suggested, not of what is true.
- Reject — the photo is no good. The meter gets read again.
Approved readings are the ones invoices are calculated from. An unapproved reading does not take part.
If a meter was replaced or rolled over
Consumption is the difference from the previous reading. If a new meter starts from zero, that difference would come out negative. In such a month Tabloto records zero consumption for that meter rather than guessing how many digits the old one had. The month passes; if a correction is needed, it is made deliberately.
Why nothing is auto-approved
Because an invoice issued from a wrong reading is not fixed by editing it — it is fixed with a credit note, after the owner has already seen the wrong amount. Thirty seconds of review costs less.
