Polls
Asking between assemblies: how to run one, who sees what, and why it is not an assembly decision.
Polls are for the questions that will not wait for a general assembly: “do we change the cleaning company”, “which of the three quotes”, “when should the assembly be”. A Premium feature.
First: what it is NOT
A poll in Tabloto is not a general-assembly decision. It has no legal force under the condominium act — it does not replace a protocol, a quorum, a notice or a deadline. It is a consultation: the committee asks, people answer, and you see what the building thinks.
That is written on every poll screen, so the misunderstanding cannot survive — not for you and not for an owner. Assembly decisions are made at the assembly.
Opening one
Building → Polls → New.
A question and at least two answers. You can attach a document to an answer (a quote, a photo) and set a deadline — the deadline is informational, so people know by when.
While it is a draft, everything is editable. Once open, the question and the answers lock: people are already voting on that text, and changing it under them is not fair.
On opening, every owner gets an in-app notification and an email.
Voting
One vote per unit — not per person. Two co-owners of one apartment have one vote between them; an owner of three apartments votes three times, once for each, and the app shows which unit they are voting as.
A vote can be changed while the poll is open — the last one counts.
Who sees what while it is open
This one matters:
- you (and the control council) see the live result and who voted how;
- owners see participation only — how many units have voted out of how many, and what share of ideal parts. They do not see the result by answer.
This is not a whim. If people can see who is winning, a poll becomes a race and the late voters answer the result instead of the question. The result opens to everyone at close — and everyone gets a notification that it can now be seen.
Owners never see who voted how. Only you and the control council do.
Closing
Manually, when you judge it right. The deadline does not close it — the building decides when it has heard enough, not the clock.
A closed poll does not reopen. If the question needs asking again, a new poll asks it — the old one stays as history.
